2006 Festival
Well the phenomenom that is The Buena Vista Social Club rolled into town on Friday night with BVSC™ presents Cachaito López, ‘Guajiro’ Mirabal, Manuel Galbán, ‘Aguaje’ Ramos. Great atmosphere, mesmeric show and the reaction was fantastic. They must have had to shake most of the audiences hands before leaving the building ....... and that Roberto Fonseco on piano !!
So it was going to be difficult to follow that but in true Musicport style, it didn't phase Reem Kelani, Apache Indian & Yasmin Levy... who all produced amazing performances that had people talking for a long time after. Other great performances came from Go Lem System, Joana Amendoeira, Albert Nyathi & Imbongi, Bonga, Vocal Sampling & Eliza Carthy.
